Workshop — Technological addictions
Results of the Technological addictions workshop held with a 9th grade class (3e) of the Édouard Pailleron middle school (Paris 19) during the 2019-2020 school year.
In this workshop, the students looked at how they use digital tools. Which apps do they use every day? And how do they use them? After listing them, they selected the ones that are part of their daily lives: YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat and the PlayStation. They then summarized their research on how these tools work and on their environmental impact in a collective metaphorical map. Building on this preliminary research, they imagined dystopian film scripts depicting these digital uses pushed to the extreme. Science fiction short films with a documentary aesthetic were then shot inside the Pailleron middle school.
